Taylor's all-round game, the West Indies defeated Thailand, playing in the tournament for the first time in the ICC Women's T-20 World Cup, by seven wickets with 20 balls to spare.  The Thailand team batted first, scoring 78 runs for nine wickets.  From his side, only wicketkeeper Nanapat (33) and Narumal Chewei (13) reached the double digits.  Taylor took three wickets for 13 runs in three overs.

Thailand, however, 
did not allow the West Indies to reach the target easily with good bowling and fielding.  He shook the top order of the West Indies, scoring him 27 runs for three wickets in the seventh over.  Among them, opener Haley The wicket of Mathews (16) was also included.  After this, Taylor (26 not out from 37 balls) and Shemaine Campbell (25 not out from 27 balls) were elected the best players of the match, batting vigorously and giving their team 16.  Scored to goal in 4 overs.  Thailand's team is participating in a big tournament for the first time, but they impressed with their bowling and playful fielding.

star batsman Mithali Raj praised spinner Poonam Yadav's brilliant performance and said that defeating a strong team like Australia in the first match would boost India's confidence in the T-20 World Cup.  With the help of Poonam's four wickets, India defeated Australia by 17 runs in the first match.  Mithali said in an ICC release that everyone is talking about the depth of Australian batting, but despite this they could not achieve the target of 132 runs.  He said that India's confidence will increase greatly with this victory, but the World Cup is still quite open.  India will have to give its top performance.
